Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has issued a stern warning to those attempting to destabilize the traditional institution in the state, vowing to prosecute whoever is found culpable. Speaking during the presentation of the instruments of office to the new Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, on Monday at the executive chamber of the governor’s office, Makinde stressed the importance of maintaining transparency and respect for traditional processes.

Governor Makinde reiterated his administration’s commitment to upholding the integrity of traditional stools, describing the Alaafin’s position as a sacred one that should not be influenced by politics or personal interests. The governor issued a clear warning to individuals who have allegedly disrupted the process or exploited the system for personal gain.

While presenting the instruments of office, Governor Makinde congratulated Oba Owoade, praying for peace and progress during his reign: The new monarch, in his response, pledged to work for the development of Oyo Town, Oyo State, and Nigeria.
