FG Assures Nigerians Of Progress In DICO
The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has said that the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria would soon meet the demands of the military and other security agencies within the country and beyond. Matawalle said that the recent assent of the DICON Act 2023 by President Tinubu has paved the way for the corporation to strengthen Nigeria’s defence capabilities.
Matawalle emphasised that the defence ministry would continue to limit procurements outside the country which will help boost foreign reserve and minimize imports. He emphasize that the end-of-year celebration and productivity award needed to be held annually so as to serve as a motivation to the staff both civilian and military.
On his part the director general Defense industry cooperation of Nigeria, Maj.-Gen. Anaedi Edet, said the celebration and award were to mark the successful conclusion of the corporation’s 2024 activities and production year.
He expressed optimism that the mandate giving to them to enhance the operational capabilities of the Nigerian Armed Forces by ensuring Nigeria’s self-reliance in essential military hardware will soon be achieved.
