Police neutralize five bandits, arrest others in separate Operations
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have neutralized five bandits and arrested others in separate Operations in Kogi and Katsina States.
The Force Public Relations Officer Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement Adejobi, said on January 18, 2025, police operatives in Kogi State intercepted a group of armed bandits during a meeting in Budon forest adding that, In the ensuing gunfight, one bandit was neutralized, four were arrested.
It added that weapons, including an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and two motorcycles, were recovered.
On the same day in Katsina State, police and other security agencies thwarted an armed bandit attack on Ruwan Doruwa Village in Dutsinma LGA.
In the process, Seven bandits were neutralized, while the rest fled, leaving behind 109 rustled livestock.
Additionally, the Force intensified efforts against human trafficking, rescuing over 207 abducted children nationwide. In Ondo State, police dismantled a child trafficking syndicate, arresting three suspects and rescuing 14 children aged 1 week to 7 years.
These operations, according to the Force Public Relations Officer, highlighted the Force’s commitment to ensuring public safety and bringing criminals to justice.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property, reaffirming its role as a cornerstone of national security.
